First-Fire / Bake-Out Schedule

Mandatory before service to drive off binder and moisture from refractory. Run empty, door cracked 20 mm, in a ventilated area.

Step 4 forms the protective alumina scale on the FeCrAl elements — do not skip. Never touch elements once fired; the oxide is brittle when cold.
